Western Australia working farm Glenlynn Cottages Interview
Name of your website?

Glenlynn Cottages

Your name?

Sonya Panizza

Your Location (city, etc)

Bridgetown.

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Self contained cottages on 120 acre working farm. Vineyard, lake, peddle boats, bbq and gazebo area and farm animals in a rural setting with fantastic scenery.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

New business owners wanting to generate more business for our accommodation.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

September 2007 for Glenlynn Cottages

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Named after the Glenlynn conservation reserve which backs onto our property.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Working farm also with lake and other aspects and not just accommodation.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To build up our business for financial gain as well as self achievement. Wanting to make it more interesting so families can enjoy quality time on their holiday and mum and dad can relax a bit more.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

It is more of a lifestyle investment for us.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Would like to keep to a nature based holiday experience.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Vineyard expenses that never end!

What has been your biggest challenge?

Vineyard.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Our new website.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It is attracting more overseas visitors.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Since September 2007 and will be permanent.

Do you think overseas visitors enjoy the farmstay experience?

Our guests love the rural atmosphere and we have many repeat customers.

What is your website address?

Glenlynn Cottages
