VIPvillas is a luxury villa rental website designed with the end user in mind. We take the hassle out of search and only list luxury villas from around the world.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
We believe there is a gap in the market to provide luxury villas with first class service levels.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
2006 this one!
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We did some research and came up with VIPvillas because it says what it is quickly and is memorable.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
We offer only luxury properties and do so with first class service levels.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To keep the webswite and grow it slowly maintaining our levels of service above all else.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
We are a young website that is growing slowly. It will take time to build brand and stature
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Provide better services to our clients. Become the dominant software provider to private villa owners to allow online booking.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
We have automated many of our processes and have call centre staff to manage demand. We wouldscale up our opertion.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Currency fluctuation.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Dealing with web development companies who provide what they want not wwhat you asked for!
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Slowly, slowly, SEO.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It has bene much more difficult to penetrate the market.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I will keep it going and build slowly.
