Herodotus, the "Father of History", was born in Halicarnassus (Bodrum/Turkey)...My first acquaintance with the place was 5 years ago when I decided to change my life..It was a long trip by bus from Ankara to Bodrum. After 12 hourse I asked again to a driver :’’How long time we have before Bodrum?’’He answered me with smile:’’Ýf you really want to see beauty of the city don’t sleep anymore..’’What could I do? I was so tired and ill from the bus bcs I don’t like the cars…So I began to look around. Green hills,trees and expanses of the blue Sea awakens my interest of this area.It was our last down from the hill and ….I could only exclaim: ‘’O my God!’’ The blue lagoon,with a lot of yachts and an old castle admired my heart and mind..So passed 5 years but I am still in Bodrum because who had been here one time must required return again…Do you know the feelings of homesick? Ýt is something like this a desire to get home…Funny that this earthly paradise know not so many people in the world.May be it makes Bodrum peninsula unique also…I know that we have here many foreigners who prefer to live not in their own countries as I done.I can only regret about people who have not opportunities to see how beautiful Bodrum is.
