Please give us a short summary of your website?
Vacation Rentals located in Wildwood Crest and other shore towns.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
The Jersey Shore is a great travel destination, but the advertising of vacation rental properties really needed to be improved.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
The first site I launched was JerseyCoastRentals.com. This was the first version of the JerseyCoastRealty.com website. After making some serious adjustments, the new site should perform much better for our visitors.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Since we are featuring properties along the Jersey Shore, the first part of my website was easy to come up with. Next, I choose Realty because it represents vacation rentals and properties for sale.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
JerseyCoastRealty.com is not a typical for sale by owner site and only advertises properties associated with real estate companies. It also has many key features that help our visitors find information about each city they are inquiring about.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I would eventually like to have several agencies in each city listing their vacation rentals. I see this site being the ultimate online portal for the Jersey Shore.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
This site has really taken a lot of time, but the hard work will pay off.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would increase my paid advertisements for local cities like Wildwood Crest and Cape May, but my tactics would still remain the same.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, I do have several people willing to jump on board and help out as necessary. I do not have a large enough client base to bring on any additional employees at the moment.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Contacting real estate agencies and explaining how the site works.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Coming up with unique ideas to keep my visitors to continue to come back for additional information on the site.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Pay per click advertising. I get about a 6% conversion rate when I create advertisements through PPC.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It really hasn't, I expected all the hard work and time.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The site just went live in January 2009 and I continue to keep it running for as long as their is a demand for it.
What now?
I continue to provide solutions for the Jersey Shore.
