Your Local is a surf related blog, aimed at the everyday surfer, it has been set up as a place where surfers from around the world can send in their pictures and stories that they wish to share. Basically if it is about surfing we will post it on our blog
What inspired you to launch your own website?
2 things really, firstly I love surfing and secondly I am super excited to see what is going on around the world in surfing, the news etc only report the major events, but sometimes even the smallest little out of the way place can really turn on some sick waves.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
first website was www.inform4free.com we launched that one about 7 weeks ago, it is all about fitness and general health, a topic which I am very passionate about and that goes hand in hand with surfing
How did you decide on a name for your website?
just popped in my head
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
well firtly thi blog is not focused on one area or break, secondly it isn't about the top level guys doing crazy stuff, it about the everyday guy finding and sharing his stoke and love of riding waves
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
to build up a world wide comunity and make some new friends around this globe.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
it is a pure joy to maintain and build
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would travel around the world surfing everywhere and blogging about it
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

none it has been fun so far
What has been your biggest challenge?
promoting, the proverbial needle in the haystack thing
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
forum posts, I only post stuff in forums that I think people will enjoy discussing and on average every time I post I see 2-300hits that day on my blog
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
not really, the blog is much less work than the sie I built
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
been 2 weeks and hopefully indefinately
why do you blog?
To share the feeling and knowledge, when I see a sick wave I am so charged up, I want to pass that feeling around!
