Rome Rentals Co. Interview

By Interviewer at 10/31/09 17:19

Name of your website?

Rome Rentals Co.

Your name?

Lawrence

Your Location (city, etc)

Rome

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Rome Rentals Co. is a vacation rentals agency based in Rome that is committed as much to the 'Rome experience' as to the quality of the apartments and services on offer.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

We launched a similar site in 2002 - www.cityapartments.it. Rome Rentals Co. is an evolution based on our experience, knowledge of the market and understanding what people interested in vacation rentals are really after: a genuine experience of Rome more as a 'local' than a tourist.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

We launched City Apartments (www.cityapartments.it) in 2002 and it has become a portal featuring over 200 apartments and bespoke functionality you would expect on sites such as Expedia.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Or name represents very specifically what we do. I don't think you can get a more precise name that Rome Rentals Co.!

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Content. We offer apartment profile pages, like all our competitors do, but also write articles to share information and tips about experiencing Rome as a local.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To go beyond offering a top quality apartment rental service and inspire and educate people about the real Rome - what you can't find in guidebooks.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Investing in a quality product and great content is always a good investment. Our company is successful, absolutely.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

We would hire more people to write articles for us as well as immprove usability.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Indeed. Very soon we will integrate Rome Rentals Co. with our bespoke and very powerful booking management system.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

It's been hard to find reliable search engine marketing professionals.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Juggling resources. Also, SEO is very competitive in our market. We hope to achieve good results because of our content.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Ultimately, the product needs to be good. This means a website that is accurate, functional and easy to use and a top quality customer service.

As far as marketing in concerned, quality content is kind, as well as honesty.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

No. We've been doing this for many years.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Rome Rentals Co. is a new product. We have been online since 2002 and plan to stay that way!

Why would anyone want to choose your business over any of your competitors?

Rome Rentals Co. stands out of the crowd on many levels. All you need to do is look at our competitors and you will realise straight away that we run a much more professional and quality operation.

What is your website address?

Rome Rentals Co.
