Scuba Flippers Interview

By Interviewer at 09/17/07 15:32

Name of your website?

Scuba Flippers

Your name?

Katie

Your Location (city, etc)

Chicago

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Scuba-flippers.com is designed to aid a diver or snorkeler in choosing the perfect pair of scuba fins to meet their needs! A visitor learns how to choose the correct shape, size and fit, as well as techniques and tips to help them pick the right pair of flippers.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Scuba diving is a personal hobby of mine. My first dive took place in the Dominican Republic at the age of twelve and I have been hooked ever since. I received my NAUI Open Water Certification in 2004 and since, have been able to experience many incredible dive waters around the world while deployed as an officer in the Navy. I started the site because I was interested in providing good, reliable subject matter to the diver consumer. Although there are many sites out there that offer numerous scuba products, most don’t provide much user support. As someone who loves the sport and enjoys researching scuba diving gear, I think it is important to present a fact based site that supplies the reader with trustworthy and useful information.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Scuba-flippers.com is my first site and it was launched in August 2007.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It is the subject matter that I discuss - Scuba Flippers. I try focus only on that topic.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Not many scuba equipment site offer reliable user information. Scuba-flippers.com takes all of the information and tips and combines them into one site.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

I'd like to eventually monetize on the site - through selling scuba flippers. However, I'm more concerned with traffic at this point.

What is your website address?

Scuba Flippers
