Please give us a short summary of your website?

We have been giving current visitor information to Maui tourists for over 20 years. We also serve as concierge agents to book activities for them.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I have been in the business since 1990. I live at the boat harbor where most activities originate. It's necessary to have a website to keep information current.

How long have you been on Maui?

24 years - and my partner has been here for over 45 years

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Originally, activity shack was named for the activity booth we operated at Maalaea Harbor. We called it "The Shack". When we retired from there, we re-named the company.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

It's hands-on. We are located right where it all happens. We even manage the condos we offer for rent and I have a real estate license so I can sell property, also.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

I plan to keep it til I drop.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

My success is determined by the number of happy, repeat customers I have been fortunate enough to meet.

Competing with the large mainland corporations who came here solely for the purpose of making money

The capability of being here almost 100% of the time to assist the readers.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

More work and more fun than expected

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Almost 20 years - not giving it up at all.

Why aren't all the above questions answered?
