The website is a showing of our vacation rental home. Includes descriptions and pictures. Also has info on how to book and location.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
We launched the website to advertise our vacation rental home.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Our first website was launched in 2007 after buying the home. It was called the same but it was very very slow and we feel we were losing business because of it. Back in Feb/ March we switched to a new host and it made a huge difference.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We named it after our business name.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
What's nice about our website is we did it. This is not something we went and paid to have someone else design for us. We think it give all necessary information you would need and has a personnel side to it.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
The goal is to rent the home to pay for itself until we retire to it.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
We have invested a lot more time and money than we have had in success so far. Would encourage a review of our site as to how to improve it.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Possibly change the photos to professional ones maybe video.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Transferring from one web host to another.

Getting higher on search engines

AD Words with Google
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Keeps getting better and easier. Mostly since we switched hosts.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
2 years and for at least 6 more years.
