Name of your website?

Clyde's Key West Information

Your name?

Clyde Powell

Your Location (city, etc)

Key West Florida

Please give us a short summary of your website?

A guide to information about Key West with hotels and Bed and Breakfasts. The different types of fishing weather you are looking for Sport fishing, Light Tackle or some Flats fishing. You will also see the various dive sites you can scuba dive on. If you are looking to escape the crowds kayaking the many backwater trails can give you a better appreciation of the Florida Keys. Plus sailing into those famous Key West sunsets.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I have always loved the Florida Keys and I found this was a great way to share it with the world. Letting them see and share it from my point of view.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

It been on the web about six years. It has not really changed to much just gotten bigger with just a few more bells and Bling.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Very simple Clyde's Key West I'm Clyde

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

You get to see some of the off beat parts of key west. The site is very large it would take hours to surf around to all the odds and ends information I include.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

I plan on keeping adding information over the years an use it as income. Sooner or later link it with a Havana Cuba site I also work on for when it opens up. Just 90 miles away by ferry.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Way too much work but I still enjoy playing the game.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

A month ago I would have said buy some PR links like some of my competitors. But looks like Google is taking care of that old trick themselfes.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes that is now mostly thank to Google Adsense they handle most the advertising which frees me up from dealing with that.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Just the learning curve and adjusting my web as the search engines change the way they do things

What has been your biggest challenge?

The time needed to promote it to the SERPs.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

I have not found any magic Bullet just hard work an keep pluging away at it.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

No real major surprises just always trying to keep up with the way things are changing on the web. I guess I will have to start getting into video for the web 2.0

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

It Been six years and I plan on keeping with for man years or until a hurrican takes out Key West.

What is your website address?
