north-carolina-travel-guide Interview

By Interviewer at 01/14/09 11:50

Name of your website?

north-carolina-travel-guide

Your name?

Maria Pease

Your Location (city, etc)

Temecula, CA

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Our favorite vacation spots in beautiful, friendly North Carolina. North Carolina is a wonderful place to visit whether you enjoy the mountains or the coast, or everything in between, at any time of the year.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Our love of North Carolina and the fun we have there.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

My first website was for my book, Malicious Intent and the site is http://www.sweetpeapress.biz

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It was easy, it was a travel guide for those who want to vacation in North Carolina, so I called it the North Carolina Travel guide.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

My site is built based on our travels to North Carolina and has a more personal feel. I tell about the places and adventures that are interesting to myself as well as many visitors to North Carolina.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Right now, I'm just enjoying the process of creating a valuable informative site where people can go to find information about North Carolina.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

It is all working very well. Balance is always the goal.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I wouldn't. I enjoy the time I spend on the site and I am learning more all the time.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I don't see why not. I'm a writer and information is what I enjoy providing.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Zip...none.

What has been your biggest challenge?

I wouldn't call it a challenge, but I am learning so much it can get overwhelming if you don't stop and take a breath and get focused.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Word of mouth so far.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I didn't know I would enjoy it this much. I get some really nice feedback from people who have used the information on my site.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The site has been up for about four months and I plan to keep adding more and more information. It's a labor of love so why would I stop?

Where can I find out more about your site?

Come and visit us at www.north-carolina-travel-guide.com and let us know what you think and if there is anything you would like to see.

What is your website address?
