House rentals by private owners for 2010 Games. Guide how to? Advertising services, international marketing and promotion of properties for 2010 and Vacation Rental Management services is what we offer. RFTG is the most specialized firm in Vancouver dealing exclusively with 2010 Vancouver Olympic Rentals and Accommodations.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
An article about a severe shortage of accommodations in Vancouver during the games in 2010
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This website was launched in 2005.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We believe that the name is memorable and very specific to what we do - also very memorable.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
There are a few copy- cats around, however we offer legitimate services that will prevent home owners for getting in trouble when dealing with potential guests from overseas. On the other hand, we watch out for foreign travellers who can't check out the property in person before they arrive. WE are not just an advertising website...
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
We are launching a sister website http://www.rentfortheholidays.com in the next couple of weeks and we think this will become world's largest Vacation Rental site.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
We've been featured in a number of TV interviews, Newspaper coverage and even on Radio. The early success was really unexpected and it got the ball rolling for us right from the start.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
In a way we don't limit anything on our site. Some of the new applications will be revolutionary in the industry- guaranteed!
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Absolutely, We have a sound plan in place and we are expected to get huge in the next 12 months.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Programming is always a little complicated and finding the right talent is not always easy.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Programming by far.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
We're in the process of SEO and we believe that everything will come down to web presence in the next 10 years. Forget the TV or Paper ads...
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
The speed of growth was overwhleming...
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
There is a solid 5 year plan in place which probably will be completed in 2 years, gagging by the current speed of development
